apibrėžtis Savaeigis pabūklas tankams ir kt. judantiems šarvuotiesiems taikiniams naikinti. Tai artilerijos kovos mašina su tanko, vikšrinio vilkiko ar šarvuočio važiuokle. Prieštankinis savaeigis įrenginys būna visas šarvuotas (dengtasis) ir iš dalies šarvuotas (nedengtasis ir pusiau dengtas); bokštinis ir bebokštis. Pagrindinės taktinės techninės charakteristikos: pabūklo kalibras 90–105 mm, šarvamušio arba kumuliacinio sviedinio masė 10–15 kg, veiksmingojo šaudymo nuotolis iki 1500 m, bendroji masė 7 500–23 000 kg. Labiausiai paplitę Vokietijos 90 mm prieštankiniai savaeigiai įrenginiai „Jagdpanzer“, JAV 90 mm M56 „Scorpion“ ir Austrijos 105 mm „K“.
